2-Mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT,M) is a light yellow powder, slightly odorous, bitter, non-toxic, fast, non-polluting accelerator, suitable for rubber and latex. It can be used with TMTD, TETD and DPG to obtain low-temperature vulcanization characteristics, and MBT gives excellent anti-aging characteristics to vulcanized rubber. It is mainly used in the manufacture of tires, tapes, shoes and other industrial rubber products, but cannot be used as food materials.

Applications：Currently used as an acid promoter and medium - speed main promoter.Mainly used for manufacturing tires, inner tubes, foot wear, rubber belts and hoses.

Properity: A light yellow powder (granular) with a little osmyl and taste bitter. The density is 1.42-1.52 Soluble in ethyl acetate, ethanol, solution of NaOH and Na2C03, insoluble in benzene, water and gasoline.
