What Is The Difference Between Accelerator M And DM?
1970-01-01

Both are thiazole accelerators, which are acidic quasi-speeds, and DM is formed by the polymerization of two M molecules.

Accelerator M(MBT) is light yellow powder with slight odor and bitter taste; DM(MBTS) is light yellow powder with lighter hue than M, with slightly bitter taste. Compared with M, DM has higher vulcanization temperature, slower vulcanization speed, better flatness, less scorch, certain after-effect, higher tensile stress and safer operation. Conversely, M vulcanization reaction rate is faster, that is, the scorch time is short, and the vulcanization flatness is poor.

Accelerator DM (MBTS) and Accelerator M can be used interchangeably to a certain extent. Both have plasticizing effect in natural rubber and can be used as natural rubber peptizer. The plasticizing effect of M is higher than that of DM at lower temperature, but as the temperature increases, the plasticizing effect of DM is higher than that of M. The tensile strength, tensile stress, tear resistance and elasticity of accelerator M compound are slightly lower than that of DM, while the heat aging type is better than DM.
