For the selection of antioxidants, different antioxidants can be selected due to the different types of rubber and vulcanization methods. The following is an introduction to the antioxidants commonly used in various rubbers.
1. Anti- aging agent for NR and SBR When selecting aging agent, it should be considered from the aspects of improving the heat resistance, ozone resistance and flex resistance of rubber. There is more demand for antioxidants with good continuous stability.
2. Anti-aging agent used in NBR For NBR, the effect of anti-ozone cracking aging agent is small. This is because the anti-aging agent has good mutual solubility in NBR, so it is difficult to migrate to the rubber surface. If used in combination with paraffin, the effect of ozone resistance can be exhibited. For NBR, the use of low molecular weight paraffin is better.
3. Anti-aging agent used in CR Compared with NR and SBR, CR has very good ozone resistance, but ozone cracking will also occur in long-term use. In CR, adding a small amount of anti-ozone cracking aging agents such as 810-NA (IPPD), 6C, DP, etc., can significantly improve the ozone resistance. In addition, CD (carbodiimide) is effective as a persistent heat-resistant and antiaging agent.
4. The antioxidant chloroether rubber (ECO) used in ECO is prone to softening and aging, and the antioxidants that can effectively inhibit softening and aging include NBC (nickel dibutyldithiocarbamate), MB (mercaptobenzimidazole), 224 ( TMDQ). In chloroether rubber, if an amine antioxidant is added in excess, the ozone resistance will decrease.
5. Anti-aging agent used in ACM (acrylate rubber) Acrylic rubber aging has both hardening aging and softening aging. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a suitable antioxidant. For hardening and aging acrylate rubber, it is more effective to choose antioxidant CD, and for softening and aging acrylate rubber, 224 and 6C antioxidants can be selected.
6. Antioxidants used in peroxide vulcanized EPDM rubber antioxidants for peroxide vulcanized rubber are generally selected from imidazole-based MB and MBZ (zinc salts of mercaptobenzimidazole) antioxidants. In addition, among amine antioxidants, there are also You can choose to use 224 and CD antioxidants that have less effect on cross-linking. In EPDM, MB and 224 or CD antioxidant can be used together to make the rubber compound have excellent heat resistance. Such antioxidants are not used due to their ineffectiveness in sulfur vulcanized rubber.
