How Often Should I Change My Tires?
1970-01-01

How long is the approximate life span of a brand new set of tires? The safe mileage is about 80,000 kilometers and the age is about 5 years, which is the first area to be considered for renewal. Generally speaking, most car owners should replace their tires within 30,000 to 50,000 kilometers, and those who don't drive a lot will replace their tires regularly after a few years with new ones, but of course if you don't drive a lot, replacing your tires regularly is definitely the right concept.

The cross-sectional structure of a tire can be roughly divided into 4 parts: tread, shoulder, sidewall, and bead. Each part has its own function. The tread is mainly in contact with the ground, the shoulder and rim play a supporting role, and the bead is in contact with the rim to play a sealing role.

The tire is not just a ball of rubber, the inside of the tire is actually made up of multiple layers of different materials stacked together - tread pattern, cover layer, steel wire belt bundle layer "2 layers", stress absorbing rubber strip, casing cord fabric layer, airtight layer.

The specifications of a tire are indicated by a set of numbers plus letters, printed on the side of the tire. The first number indicates the section width of the tire; the second number represents the flat ratio; the third is a letter indicating the tire structure, and the next number refers to the rim diameter; the last number and one letter represent the load factor and speed class, respectively.
