Introduction
As one of the representative products of environmental protection accelerators, TBzTD is an ideal substitute for thiuram accelerators. Although it has only been developed since 2001, it was quickly recognized and applied in domestic and foreign markets.
The origin and development
1. Product origin
Thiuram belongs to an important category in accelerators, and in 2018, the thiuram products TMTD (TT), TMTM (TS), TETD, etc., which were replaced by accelerators, have exceeded 50,000 tons, but because of foreign countries The accelerator TMTD has long been identified: it produces nitrosamines when vulcanized. Therefore, in 2001, the accelerator TBzTD (tetrabenzylthiuram disulfide) was developed by the former Uniroyal Company of the United States to replace thiuram products such as TMTD, TMTM, TETD, etc. Because of the large molecular weight of TBzTD, It has a high melting point and is not easy to decompose. Although a small amount of dibenzyl nitrosamine is produced during vulcanization, it is a non-carcinogenic substance that is neither volatile nor soluble in water due to its large molecular weight. Rubber vulcanization does not produce bloom.
2. Product development
The accelerator TBzTD originated in foreign markets. The early manufacturers include Japan's Ouchi Xinxing and Sanxin Chemicals, the United States' Flexx and Akron Chemicals, Germany's Rhein Chemicals, and China's Hebi Yuanhao New Materials. After 2007, the product has been continuously optimized by several production plants in China, and can already replace similar foreign products.

Product Features
7. Product properties
Tasteless, slightly bitter. Soluble in ethanol, insoluble in benzene, gasoline and water.
8. Vulcanization speed
TBzTD is an acid ultra-fast vulcanization accelerator, the vulcanization speed is lower than TMTD, and other physical properties are almost the same as TMTD, and it has become a new product of thiuram vulcanization accelerator with development potential.
9. Environmental features
This product was developed to replace thiuram accelerators such as TMTD, mainly because thiuram accelerators are prone to nitrosamines, and TBzTD was developed as a safe secondary amine-based accelerator, according to published The literature states that N-nitrosodibenzylamine is not carcinogenic. TBzTD complies with the requirements of the German "Technical Regulations for Dangerous Substances" TRGS 552 on nitrosamine toxicity and does not release carcinogenic nitrosamine compounds during the vulcanization process.
Product application
10. Features and applications:
This product can be used as fast main accelerator or secondary accelerator in NR, SBR, EPDM, NBR systems, and is a valuable auxiliary accelerator in EPDM.
It is safer to use and has a longer anti-focus time than TMTD.
No frosting phenomenon, no pollution, no discoloration.
Used together with DETU in the CR vulcanization process, it can be used as a vulcanization retarder. In thiol-modified chlorobutylamine cured with ETU, TBzTD acts as a scorch retarder, which does not affect the cure rate.
It has better processing safety and has a longer scorch time than TMTD. It can be used as the main accelerator or auxiliary accelerator for rapid vulcanization of natural rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber, and sometimes also used as a vulcanization inhibitor for PVC rubber.
When used in the manufacture of articles that come into contact with food, the provisions of Category 4 in BgVV XXI shall be referred to. Not yet regulated in FDA contact with food.
11. Application Representative
Non-tire automotive rubber products
Tires
Rubber shoe material
12. Product dosage
The general dosage is 0.4-2.0 copies. EPDM: 0.4-0.6 part, NBR: 0.5-1.0 part, NR, SBR, BR 0.1-0.3 part. The above dosage is for reference only, and the specific dosage can be selected according to the product and formula after testing.
13. Packaging and storage
25kg/bag of kraft paper bag, storage period of 12 months. Should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place. Try to avoid overlapping stacking between pallets, and packaged products should avoid direct sunlight. Overlapping stacks or temperatures exceeding 35°C will result in abnormal compression of the product.
