Recently, the 100,000 tons/year continuous soluble styrene butadiene rubber (SSBR) industrial plant technology package developed by Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Technology (BRC) passed the review of Science and Technology Department of Sinopec Group Corporation.

SSBR is the ideal material for green tire tread rubber, but the current domestic market supply mainly depends on import, which seriously restricts the high-end development of China's tire manufacturing industry.

Based on the SSBR process technology, the research team of Beihua Institute has developed 7 grades of products, covering all types of SSBR products for high-performance tires such as all-steel tires, semi-steel tires and racing tires, with technical indexes reaching international advanced level.

The 100,000 tons/year continuous SSBR process technology passed the review is highly automated and suitable for mass production, with 12 national invention patents and 5 proprietary technologies, which is highly innovative and independent, laying the foundation for the next step to accelerate technology transformation and realize the large-scale and intensive production of high-end SSBR products.
