1. Features and applications
In general purpose polymers (NR, SBR, IIR and EPDM), the accelerator PZ is used as a co- and super-accelerator for thiazole and sulfenamide vulcanization systems. Can be used as a primary accelerator in some continuous vulcanization applications.
PZ is a super accelerator for natural rubber and synthetic rubber and a general accelerator for latex.
PZ is suitable for butyl rubber that requires compression deformation and nitrile rubber with excellent aging resistance, as well as EPDM rubber.
PZ can activate thiazole and sulfenamide accelerators and can be used as a second accelerator. When used in combination with DM, the scorch resistance also increases with the increase in the amount of DM.
It should be noted that the reaction of PZ with dimethylamine produces a decomposition product, N-nitrosodimethylamine, which contains nitrosated species (nitrogen oxides).
When ZDMC is used in the manufacture of articles that come into contact with food, refer to FDA 21CFR 177.2600, 178.3120 and categories 1-4 in BgVV XXI.
2. Application and application representative
The accelerator PZ is odorless, non-toxic, non-polluting and non-discoloring, so it is suitable for adhesive tape, self-flowing glue, food and medical rubber products. The effect is better in EPDM, butyl rubber and other products.
3. Product dosage
PZ can be used in EPDM formulations with low permanent deformation, and it is best to use it together to avoid blooming. Commonly used starting points are: 1 part PZ, 1 part ZDBC, 0.8 parts TMTD, 0.8 parts DPTT and 2 parts DTDM.
PZ In NR and SBR, PZ is generally used in combination with thiazole and sulfenamide accelerators, and the dosage is between 0.1-0.4 parts.
When PZ is used as the main accelerator in NR latex, 1 part of PZ and 2.5 parts of sulfur are used as the starting point of coordination.
PZ in NR or SBR latex foaming applications, the recommended starting point is 1.5 parts PZ, 1 part ZMBT and 2.5 parts sulfur sulfur.
