Natural rubber has high mechanical strength and good elasticity, but poor aging resistance and medium resistance, with high prices and large price fluctuations. Therefore, it is often used in combination with other synthetic rubber and recycled rubber to improve the comprehensive performance of rubber products and reduce costs.
1. Diffusion of Sulfur in Natural Rubber Blends
Natural rubber can be used together with Styrene-butadiene, Polybutadiene, Butyl rubber, isoprene rubber, latex reclaimed rubber, tire reclaimed rubber, etc.
2. Common sulfur accelerator compounding techniques for natural rubber blends
When natural rubber is used in combination with other rubbers, various sulfur accelerator coordination systems can be used, including ordinary sulfur vulcanization systems, or low sulfur or sulfur carrier vulcanization systems.
Take natural rubber/Polybutadiene blends as an example: accelerator CBS, TMTD and DTDM can be selected when vulcanizing NR/BR blends with sulfur. In traditional sulfur systems, sulfur can be combined with a small amount of accelerator CBS. For semi effective sulfur systems, sulfur/CBS/DTDM coordination systems can be used. For effective sulfur systems, CBS/DTDM/TMTD can be combined in a ratio of 1/1.
3. Diffusion of accelerators in natural rubber blends
When using an effective vulcanization system for natural rubber/butadiene rubber blends, the dispersion states of vulcanization accelerators CBS, DTDM, and TMTD in the two types of rubber are different.
When selecting the sulfur accelerator system for the combination of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, and recycled rubber, rubber product manufacturers must consider the dispersion effect of sulfur and accelerator in various rubbers and the physical properties requirements of the finished product, and reasonably determine the variety and dosage of sulfur and vulcanization accelerator.
