Rubber additives refer to a series of fine chemical products that are added during the processing of rubber products, mainly used to endow them with special properties, improve their service life, and improve their processing performance. Widely used in industries such as rubber, tires, rubber hoses, tape, wires and cables, rubber shoe latex, etc.
Six categories of rubber additives:
1、 Vulcanization system additives: including vulcanizing agents, accelerators, and activators.
2、 Protective system additives: including antioxidants and flame retardants.
3、 Operating system additives: including plasticizers (softeners), dispersants, homogenizers, tackifiers, release agents, and anti coking agents.
4、 Reinforcing and filling system additives: including carbon black, white carbon black, inorganic reinforcing agents and fillers, and organic reinforcing agents and fillers.
5、 Adhesion system additives: including meta methyl white system, cobalt salt adhesion promoter, triazine adhesives, impregnation adhesives, and adhesives.
6、 Other additives: including foaming agents, defoamers, colorants, aromatics, antifogging agents, lubricants.
The role of some rubber additives:
1、 Lubricants can improve the flowability of rubber compounds under pressure, improve operational efficiency, and reduce the rate of rejection.
2、 Plasticizers can improve the processing performance of polymers, enhance flexibility or tensile properties. It is divided into two categories: physical plasticizers and chemical plasticizers. Physical plasticizers, also known as softeners, and chemical plasticizers, also known as plasticizers.
3、 Dispersant is used to improve the dispersion of carbon black and other additives in rubber materials. It plays an internal lubricating role in the rubber mixing process, reducing the viscosity of the mixed rubber, promoting carbon black dispersion, improving the processing performance of the rubber material, and reducing mixing time and energy consumption.
4、 Reinforcing agents can improve the physical and mechanical properties of rubber products, such as hardness, wear resistance, tear strength, constant elongation stress, tensile strength, elastic modulus, and stiffness.
