Irritant dermatitis is a change in the intrinsic chemical or physical properties of the skin caused by chemicals, such as alkaline, acidic, corrosive and solvent effects.
Chronic irritant dermatitis is a chronic irritant reaction of the skin that occurs over an extended period of time after repeated exposure to one or more chemicals.
Allergic contact dermatitis is associated with an immune-based defense system of the body. Some people can tolerate exposure to chemicals for longer periods of time and can minimize their allergic state.
