Origin of accelerator DPG(D)
When Oenslager was studying the quality stability of natural rubber, he accidentally discovered that aniline has a vulcanization promoting effect in 1906. In order to solve the problems of volatility and toxicity of aniline, he discovered diphenyl sulfide, the condensation product of aniline and carbon disulfide. Urea (accelerator CA) substituted aniline. The rapid development of vulcanization accelerators from inorganic vulcanization accelerators to organic vulcanization accelerators.
In the 1920s, mercaptobenzothiazole (Accelerator M) was applied for patents in Italy and the United States as a vulcanization accelerator, and thiazole vulcanization accelerators have developed rapidly since then. Accelerator M vulcanization is safe to operate and has good vulcanization performance, and its discovery is regarded as a milestone in the development of accelerators. In 1922, accelerator D, derived from accelerator CA, was also developed.
Accelerator DPG function
In most sulfur vulcanized elastomers, DPG is used in combination with thiazole and sulfenamide accelerators as co-accelerators. DPG is used as a gelling agent in NR and SBR latex foaming processes. DPG has a slow vulcanization rate and is easy to scorch, so it is generally not used alone.
Accelerator DPG application
1. Mainly used as a medium speed accelerator for natural rubber and synthetic rubber. Often used as an active agent for thiazoles, thiurams and sulfenamide accelerators. When used together with accelerators DM and TMTD, it can be used for continuous vulcanization. When the second accelerator of thiazole accelerators is used, the aging resistance of the vulcanizate decreases, and an appropriate antioxidant must be added.
2. The use of this product has discoloration, so it is not suitable for white and light-colored rubber products, as well as rubber products in contact with food.
3. Mainly used in the manufacture of rubber sheets, shoe soles, industrial products, tires, hard rubber and thick-walled products.
4. In chloroprene rubber, it has the functions of plasticizer and shrinkage agent.
5. The dosage of this product as accelerator is 1-2 parts, and the general dosage is 0.1-0.5 part when used as the second accelerator of thiazole accelerator. Its derivative, chromodiaphenylguanidine, is a highly effective rust inhibitor. It is also used as plastic cross-linking agent, high temperature material, ore flotation auxiliary, coating auxiliary, polishing material auxiliary, metal analysis reagent and building material auxiliary.
