Moisture: The role of moisture has two aspects: rubber is easy to be destroyed when it is exposed to wet air or immersed in water. Especially under the alternating action of water immersion and atmospheric exposure, it will accelerate the destruction of rubber. However, under certain conditions, moisture does not damage rubber and even delays aging.


Oils: If the oil is in contact with the oil medium for a long time during use, the oil can penetrate into the rubber and cause it to swell, which will reduce the strength and other mechanical properties of the rubber. Oils can swell rubber because oils diffuse into the rubber after they penetrate the rubber, which changes the network structure of the vulcanizate.


Others: The factors that affect rubber include chemical media, variable metal ions, high-energy radiation, electricity, and biology.
