On July 4th, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and five other departments jointly released a notice on the official website of the NDRC on the "Energy Efficiency Benchmark and Benchmark Levels in Key Industrial Fields (2023 Edition)". This move aims to accelerate the pace of energy conservation and carbon reduction in relevant industries, and further promote the progress of clearing outdated production capacity.
This notice further expands the scope of energy-saving and carbon reduction transformation and upgrading, and adds 11 new fields such as radial tires. In principle, newly added industries should complete technological transformation or phase out before the end of 2026. With the introduction of new policies, the speed of eliminating outdated tire production capacity has taken another big step forward.
