Perfluorinated ether rubber (FFKM), a terpolymer of perfluorinated (methyl vinyl) ether, tetrafluoroethylene and perfluorinated enzyme ether, is also called perfluorinated rubber.
A third vulcanized monomer is added to the FFKM component in order to form a three-dimensional reticulation structure and make the rubber elastic. The goodness of the mesh structure is largely determined by the cross-linking system.
The number of FFKM manufacturers worldwide is small and the market supply is limited, so FFKM is expensive.
Properties of perfluorinated ether rubber:
Excellent high temperature resistance: In the experiments of high temperature resistance test, the deformation rate of fluoroelastomer and other products increases sharply under the condition of 240℃ high temperature, while the compression permanent deformation of perfluorinated ether seal always stays below 50%.
In terms of chemical resistance, perfluorinated ether rubber can show its excellent stability in the environment of ethers, amino compounds, ketones, oxidizers, organic solvents, fuels, acids and alkalis, which are not applicable to general fluorinated rubber, and has excellent resistance to almost all chemicals.
