A new high performance ester antioxidant synthesis method was recently awarded the gold medal of patent at the 47th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva and the invention award by Hong Kong Invention and Innovation Federation.　　

The patented achievement of this award creatively embeds multiple antioxidant groups in a skeleton, which greatly improves the antioxidant capacity. Due to its highly efficient antioxidant properties and low coloration and toxicity, it is mainly used in lubricants, plastics, rubber, fibers, cosmetics and other fields, and has very good application prospects.

The research team used this antioxidant in lubricants, and test data showed that it could increase the antioxidant capacity of the same oil by 130% to 150%.

It is reported that antioxidants are widely used in industry and daily life, which is because oxidation and aging occur in plastics, lubricants, rubber, cosmetics, etc. during use, and antioxidants can effectively inhibit or slow down this oxidation process.

The Geneva International Invention Fair is co-organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Swiss Federal Government. More than 1,000 inventions from more than 50 countries and regions, such as the United States, Germany, France and China, were exhibited at this year's exhibition, covering the fields of biomedicine, new materials, energy and environmental protection, etc. Four kinds of awards were set up, including the Special Jury Award, Gold Award, Silver Award and Bronze Award.
