Recently, according to the data from the U.S. magazine "Tire Review", the total number of U.S. passenger tires imported from Cambodia reached 4.8 million in 2023, jumping to the 9th place in the list of imported passenger tires, with a year-on-year growth of 225%.

Cambodia has become a new player in the U.S. market in terms of exporting U.S. passenger tire products from its previous obscurity to its entry into the top 10 of the U.S. imported tires list in 2023. This is largely due to the contribution of Sailun and General Motors setting up tire plants in Cambodia.

As of May 2023, Cambodia had shipped almost as many light truck tires to the U.S. as it did in all of 2022, trade data show. By the end of the year, Cambodia had shipped more than 4.8 million passenger tires to the U.S., in addition to about 1.7 million light truck tires.

The number of Cambodian tires exported to the U.S. is expected to rise further in 2024 as Wanli and Double Star start up their Cambodian plants next, and as Sailun and General increase their production capacity in Cambodia.
