Type 23 and 26 fluoroelastomers are saturated fluorocarbons and cannot be vulcanized with sulfur, but they can be vulcanized under the action of diamine vulcanizing agents, dihydroxy compound vulcanizing agents and organic peroxides.

1. diamine vulcanizing agent.
Fluorine rubber molecules exist -CH2-CF2- links, due to the extremely strong electronegativity of fluorine atoms, so that in the presence of heat and alkaline compounds (such as amines, magnesium oxide, etc.), easy to take off hydrogen fluoride to form easily polarizable double bonds, this fluorinated olefin structure is easy to nucleophilic reagents such as amines, phenols This fluorinated olefin structure can easily adduct with nucleophilic reagents such as amines and phenols and generate cross-linking bonds. Common diamine or polyamine in fluoroelastomer vulcanization start fast reduces the processing safety of the rubber, are generally used in the hidden polyamine, at a higher temperature to play its role in order to delay the start of vulcanization, the ring of carbamate is the representative of the hidden polyamine.

As the amount of vulcanizing agent increases, the hardness and strength of vulcanized rubber increases, elongation and compression permanent deformation decreases, and the strength retention rate increases slightly after high temperature aging, and the elongation retention rate decreases significantly.

Diamine vulcanizing agent has poor process safety, thermal aging and resistance to permanent deformation in compression. It has been proved that such vulcanization system has its own unique properties, such as strong bonding with metal, and thus is often used as some special products, such as rubber and metal bonding products.

2. Dihydroxy vulcanizing agent.
This type of vulcanizing agent system is currently the most used, and most commercially available fluoroelastomers are added to this type of vulcanizing agent. Rubber processors then add metal oxide acid acceptors and fillers to make finished rubber.

Dihydroxy vulcanizing agents are nucleophilic reagents, and the vulcanization system has a higher cross-link density when using dihydroxy vulcanizing systems, so the heat resistance and deformation resistance of the vulcanized rubber are improved.

3. Peroxide vulcanizing agent.
Peroxide vulcanizing fluoroelastomer makes the fluoroelastomer's performance of water vapor resistance is improved. It generates a small amount of insoluble volatile by-products during vulcanization.

Fluorine rubber in the vulcanized rubber without adding filler that has a high strength, filler filler system, although it has a certain complementary role, but mainly to improve the process performance, improve the heat resistance of products, hardness, reduce the permanent deformation of compression and reduce costs and other purposes.
