Thailand is considered the world's largest producer of natural rubber, accounting for about one-third of global production. More than 90% of rubber is exported, and statistics show that rubber brings more GDP revenue than its famous rice. Most rubber plantations are located in northern Thailand, while some plantations are located in the east. It is estimated that Thailand's annual rubber production is 4,305,069 metric tons, accounting for about 35.6% of global production.

8. Cote d’Ivoire
Côte d'Ivoire is not only known for its cocoa production, it's also a major producer of rubber. Côte d'Ivoire farmers are abandoning other crops and turning to rubber, which is more lucrative than other agricultural crops. In recent years, its rubber production has increased significantly. There are about 150,000 rubber farmers in Côte d'Ivoire, about 520,000 hectares of rubber plantations, and a large plantation area of 50,080 hectares. Most of these plantations are located in southern Côte d’Ivoire, but rubber is also grown in the central-eastern and central-western regions. Côte d’Ivoire produces 411,044 metric tons of rubber annually, and production is expected to increase significantly in 2020.
9. Guatemala
Around 1940, Guatemala began to introduce Brazilian rubber trees for rubber planting through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It has more than 100,000 hectares of rubber tree plantations, most of which are located on the southern coast, with an annual rubber production of about 356,392 metric tons. .
10. Brazil
Brazil was one of the pioneers of rubber production in the mid-19th century, and the rubber tree is believed to have originated in South America, particularly Brazil. In the 19th century, Brazil was the world's leading rubber producer and dominated the world rubber market. However, a fungus called Microcyclus ulei infected rubber trees and destroyed most of the plantations, and heavy rains in the Amazon also drowned most of the rubber trees. This led to a significant drop in latex production, and other countries began to overtake Brazil in rubber production. Since then, Brazil has started planting rubber trees, which will become a large rubber producer in a few decades and gradually return to growth. Plantations are mainly in the states of São Paulo, Mato Grosso, Natex, Xapuri, Seringal Veneza, Rio de Janeiro and Feijó. Brazil's annual rubber production is 185,725 metric tons, and this output is estimated to increase as rubber plantations are renovated.
