Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR) becomes harder or less hard after aging.
2023-08-31

The case hardness will become larger.
During the aging process of SBR, rubber molecules are affected by external factors such as oxygen and light, and chemical reactions such as cross-linking breakage, chain-end cleavage, ring molecule cracking, and free radical exchange take place, resulting in a decrease in molecular weight, a decrease in cross-linking density, and deterioration of the material. These changes will make the rubber material harder and less elastic, thus affecting the application effect of rubber seals, rubber gaskets and so on.
Styrene-butadiene rubber processing performance and product performance is close to natural rubber, can be used with natural rubber and a variety of synthetic rubber, widely used in tires, adhesive tapes, hoses, wires and cables, medical devices and a variety of rubber products production and other fields.
