In order to improve the performance of SBS modified asphalt, TMTD was used as the raw material to test the technical properties of SBS modified asphalt with different TMTD accelerator doses, such as high temperature storage stability, aging resistance, viscosity and softening point. The test results showed that TMTD accelerator can improve the technical properties of SBS modified asphalt by increasing the rate and degree of vulcanization reaction, and TMTD accelerator can effectively improve the hot storage stability and aging resistance of SBS modified asphalt, and the reasonable dosage of TMTD accelerator is 15%-30% (sulfur mass percentage).
The effects of two accelerators (dithiodimorpholine DTDM and tetramethylthioperoxydicarbonate diamide) in different ratios on the performance of SBS modified asphalt were investigated. The study showed that the performance of SBS modified asphalt could be significantly improved by the addition of single or combined accelerators, and the effect of the combined accelerator was more significant, with a significant increase in softening point, high temperature performance, and better rutting resistance at the appropriate ratio and dosing.
