High Content Anti-Aging Agent 3100 In Tires

The traditional process of antioxidant 3100 is a mixture made from the synthesis of aniline, hydroquinone and methylaniline, whose active ingredients are N,N′ -diphenyl-p-phenylenediamine (component A), N-phenyl-N′ -tolyl-phenylenediamine (component B) and N,N′ -dimethylphenyl-phenylenediamine (component C), with mass fractions of 20%, 50% and 20%, respectively. The general antioxidant 3100 production process is more polluted, and the amount of wastewater generated after hot water washing is larger.

In order to gain insight into the performance characteristics of high content antioxidant 3100 produced by green process, this work compares the physicochemical properties of high content antioxidant 3100 and common commercially available antioxidant 3100 as well as its application in tire sidewall rubber.

1. 1 Raw material
Natural rubber (NR), SCR5; Butadiene rubber (BR); carbon black N550; zinc oxide and stearic acid; high content antioxidant 3100; other raw materials are commonly used in the rubber industry.
1. 2 Test Formulation
In the formulation design, in order to fully investigate the protective effect of antioxidant 3100, the antioxidant 6PPD and protective wax were removed from the formulation of sidewall rubber, and the two antioxidants were substituted in equal amounts for comparison. The test formula of sidewall rubber is (dosage parts): NR 50, BR 50, carbon black N550 50, aromatic oil 5, zinc oxide 5, stearic acid 2, high content antioxidant 3100 or commercially available antioxidant 3100 2, sulfur yellow 1. 5, accelerator TBBS 0. 8.
1. 3 Main equipment and apparatus
FARREL BR1600 type compacting machine; X(S)K-160 type knapper; Alpha Premier MDR type rotorless vulcanizer and Alpha Premier MV type Menny viscometer; 63TDF-DSM type plate vulcanizer; Instron 3365 type electronic universal material testing machine; RH-2000N type compression heat generator, GT -7011-D flexural fatigue tester and GT-7011-L tensile fatigue tester; CLM-QLH-150 hot air aging chamber.
1. 4 Specimen preparation
The rubber is mixed by two-stage mixing process.
The rubber is vulcanized by flat vulcanizer, and the vulcanization condition is 145 ℃×25 min.
1. 5 Performance test
All the properties of the rubber are tested according to the corresponding national standards or chemical industry standards.

(1) Compared with the commercially available antioxidant 3100, the high content antioxidant 3100 has a higher active ingredient content of 97.61%, and its production process can significantly reduce the amount of waste water generated, reduce pollution and improve the environment.
(2) Compared with the commercially available Antioxidant 3100, the difference in Meni viscosity, Meni scorch time and vulcanization characteristics of High Content Antioxidant 3100 is not significant.
(3) Compared with the commercially available antioxidant 3100 vulcanized rubber, the tensile strength, elongation at break and tear strength of high content antioxidant 3100 vulcanized rubber are slightly lower, and the tensile strength retention rate and elongation at break retention rate are greater after aging, which indicates that it has better heat and oxygen aging resistance; comparable heat generation and elasticity in compression; better dynamic fatigue resistance, static ozone aging resistance and migration discoloration resistance.
