Product origin and development
1. Product origin: Thiuram is an important category of accelerators, and in 2017, the thiuram products TMTD(TT), TMTM(TS), TETD, etc., which were replaced by accelerators, have exceeded 50,000 tons, but because the foreign accelerator TMTD has long been confirmed: it will produce nitrosamines when it is vulcanized. Therefore, in 2001, the accelerator TBzTD (tetrabenzylthiuram disulfide) was developed by the former Uniroyal Company of the United States to replace thiuram products such as TMTD, TMTM, TETD, etc. Because of the large molecular weight of TBzTD, It has a high melting point and is not easy to decompose. Although a small amount of dibenzyl nitrosamine will be produced during vulcanization, it is not easy to produce nitrosamine due to its large molecular weight. At the same time, because TBzTD products are non-polar, they will not produce bloom when used in rubber vulcanization.
2. Product development: the accelerator TBzTD originated in foreign markets. The early manufacturers include Ouchi Xinxing and Sanxin Chemicals in Japan, Flex and Akron Chemicals in the United States, Rhein Chemicals in Germany, and Hebi Yuanhao New Materials in China. After 2007, the product has been continuously optimized by several production factories in China, and can already replace similar foreign products.

Product function
1. Processing performance: It has good processing safety and has a longer scorch time than TMTD. It can be used as the main accelerator or auxiliary accelerator for fast vulcanization of natural rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber, and sometimes it is also used as a vulcanization inhibitor for PVC rubber.
2. Vulcanization speed: lower than TMTD, other physical properties are the same as TMTD, it has become a new product of thiuram vulcanization accelerator with good development.
3. Environmental protection features: The purpose of developing this product is to replace thiuram accelerators such as TMTD, mainly because thiuram accelerators are prone to produce nitrosamines. TBzTD complies with the German "Technical Regulations for Dangerous Substances" TRGS 552 on nitrosamine toxicity and does not release nitrosamine compounds during vulcanization.
Product application
1. This product is environmentally friendly: rubber vulcanization accelerator. Used in NR, SBR, EPDM, NBR systems, it can be used as a fast primary accelerator or secondary accelerator, which is safer than TMTD and has a longer anti-coking time. No frosting phenomenon, no pollution, no discoloration. Used together with DETU in the CR vulcanization process, it can be used as a vulcanization retarder.
2. Dosage: The general dosage is 0.4-2.0 copies. EPDM: 0.4-0.6 part, NBR: 0.5-1.0 part, NR, SBR, BR 0.1-0.3 part. Note: The specific addition and addition amount can be selected after testing according to the product and formula.
