Characteristics of rubber materials
1, high elasticity: low modulus of elasticity, large elongation deformation, recoverable deformation, and can maintain elasticity in a wide range of temperature (-50 ~ 150 ℃).
2, viscoelasticity: rubber materials in the generation of deformation and recovery of deformation by the influence of temperature and time, the performance of the stress relaxation and creep phenomenon is obvious, in the vibration or the role of alternating stress, hysteresis loss.
3, electrical insulation: rubber and plastic are the same as electrical insulation materials.
4, aging phenomenon: such as metal corrosion, wood decay, rock weathering, rubber will also be due to changes in environmental conditions and aging phenomenon, so that the performance deterioration, life expectancy decline.
5, must be vulcanized to use, except thermoplastic elastomer.
6, must be added to the matching agent.
Other characteristics such as small specific gravity, low hardness, good flexibility, good airtightness, etc., are valuable properties of rubber.
Rubber physical and mechanical properties of the indicators:
1, tensile strength: also known as tensile strength, tensile strength, refers to the specimen stretched to break the unit section of the load borne by the unit section, the unit is megapascal (MPa), used to be kilograms of force / square centimeter (kgf / cm2).
2, fixed tensile stress: the old term fixed tensile strength, refers to the specimen is stretched to a certain length when the unit area of the load borne. Unit of measurement with tensile strength. Commonly used 100%, 300% and 500% constant tensile stress. It reflects the rubber resistance to external deformation ability.
3, tear strength: special test piece (with a cut or right-angle shape) when tearing the unit thickness of the load borne by the material resistance to tearing, unit kN/m.
4, elongation: the specimen is pulled off, the elongation of the part and the original length of the ratio is called the elongation; expressed as a percentage.
5, permanent deformation: the specimen is stretched to fracture, scalar elongation deformation can not be recovered part of the original length of the percentage. In the lifting of the external force and placed for a certain period of time (generally 3 minutes), expressed in %.
6, resilience: also known as impact elasticity, refers to the ability of rubber to restore the original state after impact, expressed in %.
7, hardness: rubber resistance to external forces pressed into the ability, commonly used Shore hardness tester. Rubber hardness range is generally between 20 ~ 100, unit is Shore A.
